School-Based Health Centers and School Nurses
West Virginia counties employ at least one full-time school nurse per school for children in grades kindergarten through seven.  Moreover, there are many school-based health centers in the state offering a variety of medical, mental health, dietetic and health education services.  Few offer dental services.  Where offered, services are provided by school nurses and limited to classroom education, nursing assessments, fluoride rinse/tablets, and referrals.  However, some schools offer more.  In this area, the following schools offer or have offered some level of oral health care:
Collins Middle School, Mt. Hope Elementary, Mt. Hope High School and Oak Hill High School (Fayette County)
Nicholas County High School, Richwood Middle School, and Richwood High School (Nicholas County)
