Grant Opportunities in Oral Health
Claude Worthington Benedum Foundation
The Claude Worthington Benedum Foundation makes grants to support
specific initiatives in West Virginia and elsewhere. The
foundation particularly supports efforts that focus the attention of
public health policy makers on the issue of oral health; pediatric
preventive oral healthcare training for primary care providers and
early childcare workers; increased insurance coverage and oral
healthcare screening for pregnant women; parent education; and
public awareness campaigns. While seeking a grant from the Benedum Foundation is a highly competitive process, money is
available for worthy projects. Visit
www.benedum.org for more
information.
Sisters of Saint Joseph Charitable Fund (SSJCF)
The SSJCF continues the health and wellness ministry of the
Congregation of Saint Joseph in the mid-Ohio Valley primarily
through grants for special projects. Visit

Valley Health Systems
Valley
Health in conjunction with the Claude Worthington Benedum Foundation
offer competitive grants to community organizations, churches,
schools, etc. to provide oral health education to the community.
Because West Virginia children and families’ health status as
reflected in state statistics show high rates of dental caries
disease and overall health challenges of obesity and related
diseases that impact each affected family’s future, Valley Health
challenges the community to create, test, and eventually share the
successful oral health programs they develop that meet the expected
outcomes. The goal is to create oral health education and/or
materials that will educate and empower families to meet their own
and their children’s oral health needs. Download a
grant application.
